‘PAS voters must become political teachers to Umno,’ says Mokhtar Senik.
MALACCA POLLS | A PAS leader wants voters in Malacca to teach Umno a lesson.
PAS Ulama wing member Mokhtar Senik (below) said that while he loved Muafakat Nasional, he hoped to see Umno lose in the state polls.
“Hopefully, Umno’s defeat in Malacca will teach them honest and clean politics.
“As such, all PAS voters must become political teachers to Umno,” he said in a social media post on Saturday (Nov 6).
PAS is contesting eight seats in Malacca as part of Perikatan Nasional – which is headed by Umno’s rival Bersatu.
Of these eight seats, seven are also being contested by Umno.
Umno will also square off against Bersatu in 12 seats.
PAS had previously tried to secure a truce with Umno – but the latter reportedly refused to make concessions.
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said the party’s supporters must vote for PN in the event of a clash with Umno.
A preliminary analysis indicated that a Bersatu-PAS combo could suffer a major defeat in a clash against both Umno and Pakatan Harapan.
