MALAYSIA is among the countries that will enjoy relaxed borders restrictions from the United Kingdom government beginning Oct 4.
According to the UK government’s website, among the rules for travellers from Malaysia include that they do not need to take a pre-departure test or quarantine for 10 days after arriving in England.
The fully vaccinated travellers also do not need to take Covid-19 test on the eighth day as previously implemented.
The individuals who wish to travel however must book and pay for a Covid-19 test – to be taken on the second day, after arrival in England.
It is also required for the travellers from Malaysia to complete passenger locator form – any time in the 48 hours before arrival in England.
However, the individuals must furnish complete vaccination proof with a document (digital or paper-based) from a national or state-level public health body that includes personal details as well as the followings:
- vaccine brand and manufacturer
- date of vaccination for every dose
- country or territory of vaccination and/or certificate issuer
“If your document from a public health body does not include all of these, you must follow the non-vaccinated rules. If not, you may be denied boarding,” the website stated.
According to a Bloomberg report, UK’s Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said the current traffic light system of red, amber and green countries would be scrapped for England from Oct. 4 and replaced by a simplified red list of countries with high infection rates.
