PETALING JAYA: PAS must decide whether it wants to face the 15th general election (GE15) with Umno in Muafakat Nasional (MN) or Bersatu in Perikatan Nasional, said a state Umno leader.
Pahang Umno chairman Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the PAS chapter in Pahang had already chosen to work with Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) through MN, adding that this was the best political model for the state.
“I hope that PAS’ central leadership can also make a stand, as urged by Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan, to prevent any confusion and suspicion among leaders and members of both the parties,” he said, according to Sinar Harian.
On Saturday, Mohamad said seat allocations for GE15 had already been agreed on among BN parties.
The Umno election director said PAS needed to decide soon on whether it will be with MN or PN in facing the elections, even in the various states.
Wan Rosdy, who is also Pahang menteri besar, welcomed Mohamad’s remarks, saying it was necessary to avoid any conflict and seat clashes at the polls.
After its annual general assembly, held earlier this year, Umno had decided that it would not work with Bersatu, PKR president Anwar Ibrahim or DAP in GE15.
